For once the dressage was in my opinion good enough. We have been practicing a lot and it finally seems as if the judge can see it. 54.8 penalty points in the dressage is ok and would have given a placement this time if I had been clear on the rest. There is still plenty of room for improvement but it for sure seems to be going in the right direction.
A little too fast in the jumping and one fence down sent us off to the cross with 58.8 penalties. The cross was not too big but there was a couple of difficult fences around. Cassius did everything hw could and solved one question at a time. Unfortunately I overestimated his turning capabilities on the third last fence and ended up placing him almost parallel to the fence without him even realizing that we were supposed to jump it until he stood right in front of the red flag. It is a stupid mistake to make but at least it is not a real problem with his ability to jump a certain type of fence or being afraid of water. We will try again next week in Haslev to qualify for Copenhagen eventing.
