The winter is spent fine tuning both dressage and jumping. Yesterday I brought Aristocrat to a course in “riding the dressage tests the best way”. He did the CI1*A test for the first time and did it really well. Very relaxed and with a nice rhythm all the way. We worked a little on getting him up in front of me, unfortunately he got tired from this work and that made the walk difficult. This is also why we don’t do the five steps in walk between the leg yields. The second test, he did ended at 68,8% or as we normally look at it in eventing 46,8 penalties. Now we just need to get the jumping a little more relaxed and then he is ready for 1* in May or June.
