Sopot is a long drive away

This past week I spent in Sopot, Poland. We left very early Wednesday morning – some would probably consider 3.30 AM night, but this is a quite normal time of the day to get up when you have horses, and arrived in Sopot at 7.00 PM. The original plan was to bring just Aristocrat and try to see if I could finally get a MER at an international competition. A couple of days before leaving I decided to bring Marco for a national competition.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with the result. Aristocrat is almost where I want him cross country now. He is very confident and doesn’t act up at all. Of course it would have been nice if he had liked the arena better and not felt like a horse eating dragon was lurking in every corner. But I got my MER and that was what I was after. Marco did his absolute best, he was really good in dressage and show jumping. But there was nothing left when we reached cross country. He was just so tired that I ended up retiring.

Next stop is Kalundborg Horse Event where I will be riding Aristocrat in the CCI2*-S and Faraday in the CNC100.
