Not Quite What I Expected

Yesterday was the day for Faradays young horse eventing test. He was entered in an 80 cm cross country competition where one of the very experienced Swedish judges would say a few words about the horse’s future in the sport. This would also count as a qualifier for the Nordic Eventing Championship for young horses.

Faraday only once saw a drop as big as the one we had to jump and I thought that if I would have any problems, that would be the place. Little did I know that my very ambition jumping horse planned on jumping me out of the saddle – on fence number two. This left us out of the competition and out of qualifying this time. There are other possibilities for doing that. After falling off, they were nice enough to let me jump the rest of the course.

He also wasn’t a big fan of the drop, which in his opinion was the end of the world. I don’t have it on video, but he did end up jumping it, after having jumped the other fences. He needs more practise and I need better glue.
